His daughter, Anne III, heralded a new age upon her father’s death of natural causes. She ruled well for nearly fifty years, coming to the throne at the age of fourteen under a Regency. Her rule was not unmarked by tragedy, however; her son and heir, Tiberion, called the Black Prince, was killed in battle over a territorial dispute with an Irien Earl at the age of thirty-one. Anne’s granddaughter, Vicaria II, came to the throne and initiated the Short Regency, a period of three months before her sixteenth birthday.
